Magician Michael – magician, entertainer, lederhosen. However, these tags fail to describe all aspects of the Upper Austrian magician. Somehow more fitting: fresh, authentic and exceptional. One thing is for sure: this show is beyond compare.
The entertainer from Austria has been fascinated by illusions and magic tricks since he was a child. This is why it didn’t take long until he practiced his first tricks. What seemed to be childish fun at first turned into a serious passion. In the beginning Michael’s performances were still in a classic manner, but as time went by he managed to incorporate more and more traditionally Alpine influences into the show. The Lederhosen-Magician was born.
Austrian Folk culture meets magic and blends into something completely new and unique. Magician Michael levitates a pitchfork, gets locked into a huge Emmentaler cheese and pierced with swords, while you hear the theme song of Heidi in an up-tempo dance version through the speakers.
This is something you definitely have not seen before. Despite the many rustic elements of the show you won’t get the feeling that you’re watching some outdate folkloristic performance. This is mainly because Magician Michael knows how to combine modern and traditional elements and how to win over the audience with tongue-in-cheek self-irony. No one knows for sure where Michael got his skills from. Maybe there is an entertainer gene in the Alpine cow’s milk that he grew up on.
