Compere and Host Mark
Compere and Host Mark would happily admit that award ceremonies and Sportsmen’s dinners are his specialist subjects. Mark has compèred hundreds of events over the years, working with many of his sporting heroes; included in the long list are (the great) David Beckham OBE, Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff MBE, Frank Bruno MBE, Ryan Giggs OBE, Graham Gooch, OBE, Pat Cash, Sir Ian Botham and Sir Alex Ferguson, CBE. He even fronted a very successful “sportsmen’s-dinners-for-thetroops” tour of war-torn Kosovo in 2000 with the late Alan Ball, MBE and Jack Charlton, OBE.
In 2011 alone, Mark has hosted events Worldwide, including: Brunei, United States (three times), Malaysia, Portugal (twice), Germany (twice), Switzerland (twice) and Hungary, plus events throughout the UK. Mark has hosted Manchester United’s and Aston Villa’s Player-of-the-Year awards, and hundreds of other prestigious awards ceremonies, such as the MBNA North West Football Awards at the Point Conference Centre at Lancashire Cricket Ground. He’s been the regular live MC for the Masters’ Football Series for the past decade, (shown live throughout Europe on Sky Sports) and for the Masters International Tournaments in Dubai, UAE; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Brunei and Macau, China. During the 2011 South East Asia Tournament, he presented all the live TV interviews for ESPN. Mark is often heard as Everton’s match day announcer at Goodison Park; he’s covered Rugby League too, at World Club Champions St Helens’ ground, and all Leeds Rhinos’ home games, plus Old Trafford Cricket Ground for Lancashire CCC’s home games. An avid sports fan, (the green on his TV wears out before any other colour) Mark has been match day announcer and has presented pre-match entertainment at both Liverpool and Everton FC, and several seasons at Tranmere Rovers.
